Vietnam Floods Kill 19, Capital Hanoi Under Water

In central Vietnam a flood has killed nineteen people. After heavy rains it has left many of the streets under three feet of water. There was a 48-year-old man who was swept away after he was feeding his buffalo and a nineteen-year-old man who was killed and he was on his way to husk rice. Out of the nineteen people that were killed four of them were children whose ages ranged between eight and twelve years old. The children were swept away from the currents on their way home from school. There has been a week of heavy rains. In the capital it has turned the streets into rivers and has caused major chaos. About once a year Vietnam gets heavy rains and tropical storms and last year it left 435 people dead and missing. I am glad that I have not had to experience a major flood like this. It must be pretty tough to lose your child or a family member by a flood.

Boy Killed While Trick-or-Treating

A twelve-year-old boy what shot dead while he was trick-or-treating. His father and brother were also hurt by the gunfire. He was with his family and they were headed home from an event. They decided to stop at a few houses and the boy went down to a house and they thought they heard fireworks but it was a gunshot. The boy, father and brother were all hit by the gunfire but the little boy died at the hospital but his father and brother were okay. I think its crazy that a day for fun and for kids to enjoy, turns into a day filled with sorrow and anger and an innocent boy has to die for no reason. What do parents do after they hear about a boy that was trick-or-treating at shot once he went someone’s house? I think it’s pretty crazy about what’s going on. The shooting suspect is in custody and has been charged with murder and three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill.
